I simply disagree. We conquered Germany without the atom bomb. The defenders of Germany were dug in just like Japan would have been and their resolve to fight to the last man just as fanatical. If I remember correctly, Hiroshima had an estimated 50k killed instantly and Nagasaki was another 20k. And that's not considering the thousands of Japanese that suffered and died in the months and years following the attacks. Such instantaneous loss of life is hard to envision and the bombings hard...

MP's, the meaning of life. I just watched that again last July as I received a 4 movie Monty Python DVD set as a birthday gift. I always liked the meaning of life song as well.
