Re: Civ IV Multiplayer thread

Oh yeah I'd love to play! Heck, I could even host the server if necessary. Expansions: Any and all. I have the lot of 'em, but no real preference either way. Patched: Any Skill Level: The first or second I'm comfortable with. Favourite Civ: The Dutch I can sneak in an hour every day at least, that s...

Re: The Christianity topic

The interesting thing is, that one doesn't fly, because God obviously isn't bound by the rules of our universe. In fact, He made the universe, it would be silly to assume he'd be bound to rules that He Himself set up. If we assume a supernatural entity as source of the universe, then we don't need t...

Re: The Christianity topic

The origin problem here is, according to our understanding of the natural universe, the creation of said universe is impossible. This because there had to be a point where there was nothing and a subsequent moment when there was something, which is impossible to explain through natural causes. Why?...

Re: The Christianity topic

For as long as I'd known him, he seemed to believe. But he told me that there was no proof. I have 2 thoughts on this matter. 1. What is proof in this matter. Is it that which makes it nigh impossible to believe otherwise? If there was undeniable proof for God's existence, would that not make the w...

Re: The Christianity topic

I'd take issue with the "in whatever form". I can certainly see people reconciling a metaphorical reading of the Bible with modern science, but not a literalist reading. I worked with a born again young-earth creationist who worked in the hard sciences, and it just seems like there would be an awfu...

Re: Games other than Star Control

Has anyone else tried out Magicka ? It's a really funny top down... err... I suppose it's a hack 'n slash... except you do most of your combat with magick spells that you conjur by combining elements. So, say you combine rock and fire, that gets you a fireball. Or combining water and cold, which get...

Re: The Christianity topic

Oh, thanks for pointing that out Lukipela, I didn't actually notice that. It's fixed now. And kingschosen, I wasn't so much offended as I was attempting to point out that you seem a bit convinced of your own right, to the point that you'd be willing to judge someone's views as being absolutely "Fals...

Re: The Christianity topic

While I don't agree with your views, I find your take on salvation pretty interesting. Personally I lean more towards the "salvation through grace" end of the spectrum. That, as John 3:16 states, all who believe in Jesus Christ will be saved, not just those who happen to have been picked by God. Al...
