Maybe I'm not phrasing it well. I'm not saying I can't read books or don't enjoy toying around with writing myself, but I do so very much on an amateur level. I've got no schooling to back up any of what I say, so my point of view is just that, a point of view. Compare to your post on choices in stories, that's something I wasn't aware of at all.

So I think some of the conversations didn't gel to me, and that they may have repeated the same thing and failed to set a tone. But I'm not a literary critic, and I don't know how accurate that is other than as a reflection of my opinion. People often seem to like things I don't after all.

Just guessing here, but cutting away decent chunks might remove a lot of kc's motivation for writing it. In this sense maybe it's all or nothing? Hopefully all . . .
