Yeah, so much for my victory lap. :P-smf

Oh, I am enjoying it.
You selected your path among the possibilities.
And you did so very fine.

You resurrected a whole race which has been thought to be extinct.
You caused a rebellion, which was bloody yet is considered a noble thing.
You reunited a race with its offspring-race.
You freed many, many civilizations, among which the Earth and its colony Unzervalt are really happy.
You fused two races together in an unplanned, becaused rushed way.
You found a love among the aliens.

You destroyed several one-of-a-kind artifacts, among which an intelligent computer which you ripped from a one-of-kind planet-bound star-ship factory, you misused an irreplaceable planetary removal tool to destroy a one-of-a-kind ancient starship, you destroyed the only known shield against mental influencing which has only been unsufficiently researched at a malressourced science lab by unexperienced laboratory assistants. You caused several severe diplomatic problems, which will overshadow our relations with several neighbouring races severely for decades to come. You killed the only being that has an accurate memory of the last 20.000 years, which would have undoubtly been an important object for research by our galactic historians for decades to come.

On the up-side, you were able to alert us of dangers in this galaxy which we wouldn't have been able to prepare for, like mind-controlling little animals (who lack proper manipulators to develop technology, but this does mean this could evolve on a different planet, a much larger danger for us); and genociding aliens, and malpracticing slave traders, and rainbow planets, and planet shattering birth processes for aliens, and and and.... We need to start making contingency plans for how to handle each and everyone of these dangers.

There's a lot of work to do, for us. You task is now to celebrate in the glory of your victory, and let us slice of a bit of your glory for our political purposes, so we can advance our agendas, which does include unpopular measures, like limiting personal freedom and personal rights, which are necessary to be able to check if someone is mind-controlled...

So, take your Medal of Honour, go on some parades paid by taxpayers, go on some liveshows, write a book about your adventures, earn millions from being on the best-seller lists, enjoy your hero status with the ladies,... Whatever.

...And on that note, I'm just going to leave these links here for you to peruse at your leisure:

I think the first version was likely lost during one of the forum updates years ago, sadly.

Also this, because I love it:

Heh, I'm still kind of embarrased of that second one.

Hmm, well the third one I'd say is more embarrassing as it was more of a flop than the prior two.

If you want to do it with style, you should have 16 high-capacity fuel tanks, and not more than 1 fuel left when you make the deal.
I recall doing the same thing with the Druuge + Portal Spawner. Had to put a weight on my keyboard and walk away to unload because my computer ran a bit slow at the time.
FYI, in the latest UQM (post 0.7.0), you can use PgUp/PgDown to adjust fuel by +/- 10.

"Groombridge Log" is what you're speaking of, probably, for book format.

No, I meant "Trog's logs: the book"
or just printing out the forum posts to read later
