Might as well speak up...
I'm still around, I've just been checking more irregularly of late.
When I had last posted here, I had been unemployed for nearly two years. The increased pressure to find a job during that time period seems to have broken a few of my up-to-that-point regular internet habits. Checking this forum was apparently a victim of that.
Since then I've done two call center jobs, the first at a physical location. The other employees were great to work with, but the employers mistreated us constantly, and the place was a disease-ridden cesspool that was impossible to stay healthy in. Then I had a death in the family that hit me pretty hard, drove me into a depressive state that made working even harder and I eventually got canned for attendance problems due to being ill constantly.
The next call center job was actually done from home, and at first was a very sweet gig. I was supporting people's wifi devices in my boxers. Then my employers renegotiated the contract they had with their customer, and as a result the job changed considerably, more pointless rules got added, and there was a strong push to eliminate under-performers. Before I could get fired for some reason or another I ended up getting the job I have now.
Current job is working out better in most respects: It helps that my friend is my boss and the one who hired me.
In less-boring areas, I continue to game. Less so on the Second Life and more on the Minecraft lately, though I have found myself mucking about in Starcraft II as well.
In other gaming, I've been slowly researching and gathering information for a D&D 3.5 campaign that I want to run based partially on the 2nd edition Chronomancer source book. I may or may not have been watching Doctor Who for inspiration for this idea.
There's certainly more but I'm not thinking of it at the moment; this should be enough to start.
