Is it too late to vote on the contest? I mean, all things considered, the voting should be extended for the duration up until the time the contest actually starts! In which case, I would like the vote that the contest be artwork, which could include Lego models of Star Control models.

Actually, as I believe we kind of determined a number of months ago, the fact that the victor was "art" basically opened the floodgates, courtesy of the highly foggy definitions of art. Images, paintings, music, fanfiction and so on, all can be considered art, if you look at it a certain way.
Therefore, it would probably be a whole "run amok" scene, with people doing whatever they consider to be art...

Since it would seem that there is a distinct possibility of the continuation of postponements, perhaps some of the prospective artists would like to hear some recommendations. I for one would love to see, for example, a picture of a Yehat Terminator firing at a Mycon Podship while absorbing it's homing plasmoid with it's shield active. Actually, any artwork of two ships (or more) in a space battle would be awesome!

With easter coming next weekend, Scott Irving has once again vanished from the Star control community.

Technically, it was not a lie until the date failed to match, but at this point the whole thing is probably never going to get done; I give up.Angelfish wrote:PLEASE, Stop lying to the star control community!Scott Irving wrote:Yeah your right.. life what a pain...lol.

Can we just roll our own fanfic contest?
How about this:
I throw out a prompt and anyone who wants to enter can put a fic containing that prompt in the thread I'm about to make in *Heavy Space*.
The prompt:
didn't want to be rescued

I already gave Scott Irving the prize for the contest, but I can supply the contest with another one if needed.
I can then be the judge and jury and send the prize to the author of the piece of art that I think was best.

Re: Contest time Hunams of the world!
Sorry all. What can I say life gets in the way. I always wondered what kept Chad so busy, it seems I've joined that group. I do indeed have lovely sealed copy of the book Tiberian sent me for the contest. My repeated failure to do anything with this is unfair to the community and Tiberian.
My apologies is all I can offer on that matter.
I want to make this right.
